BIST Consulting is an IT consultancy from Hanover, Germany, specialising in AI, process automation and social robotics, founded in 2018 by Daniel Bierschwale and Paul-Ferdinand Steuck. Both research generative AI and build for companies what they recommend.

The story of BIST
BIST Consulting was founded in Hanover in May 2018. At the time, Daniel Bierschwale and Paul-Ferdinand Steuck were studying business informatics together at Hochschule Hannover, and from the outset they combined business requirements with technical implementation.
In its early years, BIST developed web shops and custom software for companies in the region. Data protection was considered in every project from the start, as both founders are data protection officers certified by TÜV NORD.
With their master's studies and research at the University of Hildesheim, artificial intelligence moved to the centre of their work. Since 2023, both founders have been researching generative AI there and transfer current findings directly into client projects.
Today BIST combines research and implementation: consulting in five service areas, its own products SOPHAI and Trype, and talks on AI and social robotics.
